Education Reimbursement Program

Revised Program Effective June 1, 2017

Purpose:  This program is available to subsidize training for our Signatory Contractors through the issuance of Education Reimbursements which can be used to offset costs associated with participating in Local and National MCA Educational Events.  The intent is to reward Contractors who actively participate in local MCAKC Education and Activities.

Earning Participation Points:  Points are earned and awarded on a company basis.  The selection or designation as to who within a qualifying company shall receive an Education Reimbursement shall be at the discretion of the company’s designated representative.

One (1) Participation Point shall be awarded to a Member Company for each Individual who attends an MCAKC Event, Meeting, or Function.  No more than two (2) Points may be earned per company per event.  It is the responsibility of the MCAKC Office to track the accumulated Points of each Member Company.

MCAKC Events that are eligible for Participation Points include: Kansas City Night, Board Meetings, Committee Meetings, Trustee Meetings, General Membership Meetings, Educational or Networking Offerings, MCAKC Charity Golf Outing Volunteers, or other events as approved by the Board of Directors.

Earning Education Reimbursements: After a Member Contractor accumulates (6) Participation Points, that company will receive an Education Reimbursement in the amount of $1,000.  The Reimbursement expires one year from the date of issuance.  No more than six (6) Reimbursements may be awarded to any Contractor in a calendar year.   At the end of each calendar year, each company’s accumulated Participation Points resets to zero.

Reimbursements may be used to defer the costs for any MCAA, MSCA, PCA, NCPWB, or local MCAKC Educational Programming.  When using a Reimbursement(s) for local MCAKC Education Programming, the $500 Completion Incentive will not apply.  Any Member may request approval from the MCAKC Board of Directors to apply a Reimbursement(s) to an alternate Industry Educational Event.

After attending an “Approved” Event, the Member submits receipts, along with the issued Education Reimbursement up to the value of the Reimbursement.  Eligible expenses include; transportation, conference registration fees, reasonable expenses incurred while attending, and lodging.  Multiple Reimbursements may be used to cover the cost of an Education Event, or for the attendance of multiple employees.  Any “Unused Balance” on a Reimbursement is forfeited.
