Participants will gain a clear understanding of how heating\, cooling\, refrigeration\, and plumbing systems work\, where common failures occur\, and what tools and materials are used in the field. Through real-world service call examples and hands-on activities\, attendees will learn to interpret job notes\, understand technician terminology\, and follow the flow of a typical repair or service visit.\n \nThe seminar also covers common parts and codes found on work orders\, how to ask smarter questions when communicating with techs\, and what’s really happening on rooftops\, in mechanical rooms\, and in the field. It’s a focused\, plain-language program that helps office teams support the field with greater confidence and clarity. \nCEUs: 0.4 \nCost: There is no charge for employees of MCAKC Member Contractors Signatory to Local 8 & 533. \n$100 for Non-Members Signatory to Local 8 & 533.\n$150 for Associate Members.\n  \nInstructor\nShannon Nicklaus is a Professor in the School of Construction at Pittsburg State University\, specializing in mechanical and MEP systems. DESCRIPTION:This seminar takes place at JCCC. \n			Signatory & Associate Members: Contact Jacki Conn to register for FREE.\n			All others may register by visiting JCCC.\n\n\n\n \nThis seminar has been approved by the Contractor Licensing Review Board of Johnson County. \nApproved for: ‘Non-Code’ Credit. \nKansas Sales and Compensating Use Tax for Construction Contractors\nThis presentation by the Kansas Department of Revenue specifically targets construction contractors and subcontractors.  The workshop covers how sales tax applies  to materials and labor\, project exemption certificates\, sales tax returns\, and billing. \nCost: FREE to employees of Signatory Contractors and Associate Members. \nCEU: 0.25 \n  \n\n\n\nRegistration and Attendance Policy:\n			MCAKC offers several fee or no fee networking and educational opportunities to employees of Signatory and Associate Members. \n			Registrants of MCAKC sponsored events\, who wish to cancel their registration\, must do so at least 2 Business Days prior to the event by either email (jconn@mcakc.org) or phone (913-948-9200). \n			“No Shows” will be assessed a fee for the full price of the course and invoiced accordingly. \n			Tax Classes: $25\n			Excel Classes: $200 to $400\n			Leadership Classes: $200 to $400\n			Bluebeam Classes: $400 \n			Transfer Policy:\n			Registrants in JCCC continuing education courses may transfer their registration to another course.
