DESCRIPTION:Breakfast & Lunch included. \nDay 1: Plan Reading for Mechanical & Plumbing/Piping  \nintroduces participants to reading and interpreting architectural and structural construction drawings used on commercial building projects. Topics include floor plans\, elevations\, sections\, schedules\, foundation plans\, structural framing systems\, construction details\, and an overview of project delivery methods. \nRegister separately for Day 1. \nDay 2: MEP Plan Reading (This seminar)\nThis seminar focuses on reading and interpreting mechanical\, electrical\, and plumbing (MEP) construction drawings used on commercial building projects. Participants will learn how to navigate MEP plan sets\, understand system layouts\, interpret schedules and details\, and identify key building system components. \nTopics include HVAC systems\, electrical distribution and lighting plans\, plumbing systems\, equipment schedules\, riser diagrams\, and coordinated MEP drawings. Emphasis is placed on understanding how building systems interact and how MEP drawings support project planning\, coordination\, construction\, and closeout. \nCEUs: 0.7 \nTarget Audience: Project engineers\, project managers\, estimators\, coordinators\, field leaders\, and anyone responsible for working with MEP construction documents. \nCost: There is no charge for employees of MCAKC Member Contractors Signatory to Local 8 & 533. \n$150 for Non-Members Signatory to Local 8 & 533.\n$200 for Associate Members. \nInstructor\nBrad Perkins\, P.E.\, is a Senior Lecturer in Iowa State University’s Department of Civil\, Construction\, and Environmental Engineering. A graduate of Iowa State’s Construction Engineering program\, Brad joined the faculty in 2005 after working as a design engineer.
