DESCRIPTION:Intern Orientation\nSpace is limited! Register Early!\n\nAbout\nThe Intern Orientation is a one-day seminar that provides interns with foundational knowledge about the profession and foundational business etiquette. Led by local professionals in the mechanical contracting industry\, this seminar includes group discussion and small group interaction to educate participants on what it takes to thrive in an industry workplace. \nAttendees\nThis program is designed for interns in mechanical contracting. \nGoals  \n\nHelp interns identify their role in\, and contribution to\, your business.\nGain knowledge of the mechanical contractor’s business culture.\nConnect with peers to build a professional network.\nEducate\, excite\, and engage the next generation about the MCAKC community!\n\n  \nObjectives \n After completing this program\, participants will be able to:\n \nSection 1: Industry Overview\nChris Hutchings – President – Cerris Systems\nGain insights into mechanical contracting\, including key roles\, industry impact\, and career opportunities.\nAre you an intern in a field outside of the industry (marketing\, finance\, etc.) that would like a more in-depth training about mechanical contracting? Sign up for our Industry Orientation Program here! \nSection 2: What are Unions\, Plumbers\, & Pipefitters?\nJason French – VDC Manager – Alexander Mechanical\nJason Powell – Service Sales Engineer – Design Mechanical\, Inc.\nExplore the role of unions\, plumbers\, and pipefitters in shaping the skilled trades and our industry.\n \nSection 3: MCAKC\nStacy Zerr – Executive Director – MCAKC\nUtilize the MCAKC to support career goals. \nSection 4: Safety\nBen Kent – Safety Director-Midwest – U.S. Engineering Construction\nPrioritize safety by learning risk prevention\, mental health awareness\, and best practices for a safer jobsite. \nSection 5: Business Ettiquette\nSteve Adams – CEO & President – MKS Pipe & Valve\nTBD\nEnhance workplace success by mastering business etiquette through interactive training and practical strategies. \nSection 6: Young Professionals Committee Panel Discussion\nVarious YPC Members\nGain career insights and industry advice from young professionals shaping the future of mechanical contracting. \nLunch is provided.   \n\nTarget Audience: Any intern in the mechanical contracting industry. \n \n   Tuition\nThis program is offered at no charge to Signatory Contractors and Associate Members of the MCAKC.   \nCancelation Policy\nCancelations for all MCAKC events must be received at least 2 Business Days prior to the event by email to learn@mcakc.org or by phone at 913-948-9200. Cancelations received after this time will be assessed a $100 cancelation fee. \n“No Shows” will be assessed a fee (see below) and invoiced accordingly. \n$50 Event Duration: Up to 4 Hours\n$100 Event Duration: Over 4 Hours (Should the event cover more than one day\, this fee will apply for each day of event)
