Your Voice in Policy and Government Affairs

Strong advocacy gives contractors a voice in the decisions that shape their work. MCAKC monitors policy, builds relationships with local and state leaders, and acts when regulations threaten to affect mechanical contracting in Kansas City and beyond.

Government Affairs

MCAKC represents Signatory Contractors at the local and state level, staying engaged with city boards, state leaders, and regulatory committees that influence building standards, permits, licensing, and public contracting. When policy decisions affect the mechanical industry, we make sure contractor interests are part of the conversation. We also work to connect contractors directly with decision makers so projects can move forward with clarity and confidence.

MCAKC works alongside a broad network of industry partners to advance shared advocacy goals. View our affiliations here.

Legislative Advocacy and the PAC

MCAKC works closely with our lobbyist and Political Action Committee (PAC) to advocate for legislation that protects mechanical contracting and supports a competitive construction market. Our focus includes labor stability, workforce development, and fair contracting practices at the state level. These efforts give Signatory Contractors a stronger presence in Jefferson City and Topeka when decisions that affect your business are being made.

Raising the Profile of Mechanical Contracting

Advocacy isn’t only about policy. MCAKC actively works to raise the visibility of mechanical contracting in Kansas City through our digital presence and industry outreach. The Outstanding Mechanical Installation (OMI) Awards were part of that effort, recognizing exceptional work by Signatory Contractors and union tradespeople across the region.
