The LiFT Project Management Training Program is designed to help project managers develop the technical, business, and leadership skills needed to successfully lead projects, build relationships, and contribute to the long-term success of their organizations.
Participants gain practical knowledge and real-world strategies that can be applied immediately on the job. Topics focus on the core responsibilities of successful project managers, including planning,
communication, financial management, risk mitigation, leadership, problem solving, and relationship management.
LiFT combines industry best practices, real-world case studies, peer discussion, and hands-on learning to help participants improve project performance, increase confidence, and prepare for greater responsibility within their organizations.
To successfully complete a level, participants must attend at least 9 of the 10 seminars in the program.
Goals
- Connect with project management professionals from mechanical contracting firms across Kansas City.
- Gain practical tools and techniques that can be applied immediately on the job.
- Strengthen your ability to lead teams, manage risk, improve project outcomes, and increase profitability.
- Develop skills that support greater responsibility, accountability, and leadership for your projects.
- Gain confidence in managing contracts, financials, change orders, scheduling, and client relationships.
Levels
LiFT is a two-level program. Each level includes ten seminars. Participants learn alongside peers from other mechanical contracting firms, sharing experiences, challenges, and best practices while gaining valuable insights from industry experts.
LiFT Level 1: New and emerging project managers, typically with 0–2 years of experience.
LiFT Level 2: Experienced project managers, typically with 3–7 years of experience.
