- Distinguished Service Award – Tim Moormeirer from U.S. Engineering was honored with MCAA’s highest award for his decades of leadership and contributions to the mechanical contracting industry, including his work on MCAA’s WebLEM and Labor Estimating Manual.
- Safety Excellence Award (1,000,001+ hours) – P1 Construction, LLC was recognized for its outstanding commitment to job site safety and worker well-being.
Student Chapter Awards: The Future is Bright

- Student Chapter of the Year – Pittsburg State University, awarded for their excellence in industry engagement, fundraising, and career development.
- Educator of the Year – Shannon Nicklaus, Pittsburg State University, recognized for his mentorship and leadership in connecting students with industry opportunities.
- Most Valuable Presenter – Parker Jenkins, Pittsburg State University, honored for delivering the most outstanding student competition presentation.
- Honorable Mention Finalist – Pittsburg State University Student Chapter, recognized for high performance in the Student Chapter Competition.
- Merit Award – Kansas State University Student Chapter, awarded for ranking among the top student chapter competition teams.
Scholarship Winners:
- ATP Inspiring Future Leaders Scholarship – Kaleb Kruse, Kansas State University, awarded for demonstrating leadership and promise in the industry.
- Donald V. Brown, Sr. Memorial Scholarship – Griffin Souder, Pittsburg State University, honoring academic excellence and industry commitment.
- Thomas J. Wanner Scholarship – Aidan Wolownik, Pittsburg State University, awarded for leadership and dedication to the industry.
- Trimble Future Estimator Scholarship – Kavan Limbasiya, Pittsburg State University, awarded for aspiring to become a mechanical estimator.

Sporting Awards: Winning On and Off the Jobsite
MCAKC’s competitive spirit extends beyond the industry! Our members and students dominated MCAA25’s sports competitions.
- 1st Place Intermediate Division Pickleball – Bryan Taylor of U.S. Engineering & John C. Marlow, showcasing skill and teamwork on the court.
- Women’s Closest to the Pin (Golf Tournament) – Brenda Rimel, demonstrating precision and excellence in the tournament.
- Women’s Overall Winner (5K Fun Run) – Emily Bright, Pittsburg State University, leading the way in the annual race.
- Women’s Youth Winner (1-Mile Walk) – Rileigh Manuel, Pittsburg State University, leading the way in the annual walk.
The City of Champions
Kansas City showed up and showed out at MCAA25. From student success to contractor excellence and everything in between, MCAKC’s impact was felt across the entire convention. With 16 total awards, we proved once again that Kansas City is the City of Champions in the mechanical industry.
