In this session, you’ll learn:
- Credit Cards: How to use them (interest, minimums, traps, points, autopay)
- Credit Scores: How to build & optimize it (for future home buying)
- Cash Flow: Budgeting without overcomplicating (pay yourself first)
- Emergency Fund: How much for a stable salary (3–6 months)
- Debt Strategy: Student loans, car loans, when to pay vs invest
Cost: This program is offered at no charge to Signatory Contractors and Associate Members of the MCAKC.
Instructor
LaTasha Jacobs is an experienced banking professional with over a decade of service in the Kansas City area and currently serves as Executive Director of Pathway Financial Education. She brings deep expertise in community development, financial education, and relationship building, shaped by her previous role as a Community Development Banker at UMB. Passionate about supporting under-resourced communities, LaTasha has led numerous financial literacy workshops and initiatives to expand access and opportunity. A Wyandotte County native, her commitment to service began early and continues to drive her mission to empower individuals and families to build lasting financial stability.

Registrants who do not cancel and do not attend (“No Shows”), except in the case of an emergency, will be invoiced $100.
