On September 14, 2026, the MCAKC community teed off at The National Golf Club for our 2026 Annual Charity Golf Outing — and the results spoke for themselves. Together, our members, sponsors, and volunteers raised over $68,000 for St. Michael’s Veterans Center (SMVC), breaking last year’s record and proving that this community continues to raise the bar.
SMVC is a Kansas City nonprofit that empowers veterans toward healthy reintegration with their families and communities through permanent housing and wraparound supportive services. Every dollar raised goes directly toward that mission.
The morning started with beautiful weather and great energy on the course. By the back nine, the heat was on, and so was the competition.
This year, we introduced a new format to determine our flight winners: the Horse Race. The six teams with the lowest scores at the end of 18 holes advanced to a head-to-head alternate shot competition on hole #10. The top three teams then moved to hole #18 for the same format, where the tournament winner was decided. Ties were broken by a blind closest-to-the-pin chip-off. It was a fan favorite from the very first year!
Huge congratulations to our tournament champions, Metro Air (Justin Gunter, Eric Hauber, Matt Kelso, and Matt Perry) and a sincere thank-you to every golfer, sponsor, and volunteer who made this our most successful outing yet.
